Beauty and health depend on one another - it’s no secret that poor diet, lack of exercise or sleep, excessive drinking and smoking can lead to early wrinkles, loss of elasticity and dehydrated, dull skin tone. Not to mention feeling sluggish and depressed.
Studies show that diets rich in omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants (in foods like fruit, nuts, salmon, olive oil) may improve skin in just three or four days; puffiness around the eyes decreases, and fine lines, wrinkles, and coarseness improved subtly.
An important daily habit is drinking water to keep toxins moving out of the system and for hydration. Try to eat organic foods, take vitamins and herbs to nourish the body, and to make up for loss of nutrients in our modern world’s foods. Eliminate as much sugar from the diet as possible, especially high fructose corn syrup. It is the one ingredient that creates unwanted inflammation in the body, aggravates acne skin conditions and, more and more, it’s shown to have a negative impact on the over-all health of the body.
Another healthy habit is professional skin care. That means healthy skin all over the body, from the face, décolleté to the derriere. Skin is a direct reflection of what’s going on in the inside. When the skin is acting up, it’s a sign that what’s going on inside your body is not good!
